Tomato Vase #30

The Tomato Vase #30 by Zahati is a tall wheat straw vase whose silhouette rises through a series of swelling curves and slender waists, like a column turned on a potter's wheel. Coiled row upon row, the natural straw catches the light in fine horizontal ridges, shifting from pale ivory to warm honey depending on the hour, and finished with a small leather-look Zahati Home label at the neck.

Each piece is moulded by hand in the brand's Gata de Gorgos workshop using traditional pottery techniques, then wrapped in 100% wheat straw, so no two vases are identical: slight variations in weave and tone are the mark of the artisan's hand. The dry, tactile texture and earthy tone sit naturally in wabi-sabi, rustic and Mediterranean interiors — standing on the floor beside a sofa, anchoring a hallway console, or grouped with ceramics on a sideboard. Its slender, lightweight form makes it an easy centrepiece in a living room or dining room, beautiful left bare or filled with tall dried grasses.
