SOMBA M smokegrey

The SOMBA M smokegrey is a faceted glass vase by Guaxs, built on a softly squared, cushion-like silhouette that rounds at every corner. Its entire body is covered in hand-cut facets — irregular honeycomb cells that ripple across the surface and make the glass look carved rather than moulded. The tone is a warm smoke grey, deeper at the shoulders and edges, pale and almost sandy where the light passes through.

The cut faces are matte and frosted to the touch, while the rim stays clear and polished, drawing a fine bright line around the oval opening. Because the walls are thick and satin-finished, this smokegrey glass vase glows rather than glares: candlelight or a lamp behind it turns the facets into soft amber pools, and daylight leaves each cell with its own quiet shadow. Fill it with peonies or pink ranunculus for a romantic contrast, or leave it empty as sculpture. A natural fit for wabi-sabi and japandi rooms, on a console in an entryway, on a sideboard beside books, or as a low centrepiece on a dining table.
