Coffee table

A rectangular ash veneer coffee table built around two sculptural column legs and a long, low top with softly rounded corners. Seen from the front, the tabletop appears to float: a narrow shadow gap separates it from the rounded plinth legs, giving this 145 cm coffee table a lightness that its generous proportions would not suggest.

The surface is MDF finished in natural ash veneer, pale and honeyed, with the grain running the full length of the top and reappearing in flame-like arcs on the legs. The finish is matt and close to the wood, so daylight glides across it rather than bouncing off — the gentle bullnose edge catches a soft highlight along its whole length. The rounded, capsule-shaped supports are thick and confident, echoing the calm geometry of japandi and contemporary minimalist interiors.

At 46.3 cm high it sits comfortably beside a low sofa, holding books, a tray and a bowl without crowding. Place it on a boucle or wool rug in a light living room, pair it with linen upholstery, ceramics and dried stems, or let the warm ash tone soften a room of white walls and pale oak flooring.
