Coconut Zebra Vase #31

The Coconut Zebra Vase #31 by Zahati is a handwoven wheat straw vase with a sculptural double-gourd silhouette: a rounded base, a pinched waist and a swelling belly that tapers into a tall, straight neck. Broad bands of ivory and inky black spiral around the form like zebra stripes, and the tightly coiled straw catches light in fine horizontal ridges that shift as you move around it.

Each vase is moulded by hand in the brand's Gata de Gorgos workshop using a traditional pottery technique, coil by coil, so no two are ever identical — small variations in the stripe rhythm and profile are part of its character. Made from 100% wheat straw, it is a genuinely sustainable piece of craftsmanship, and at 65 cm tall it reads as a floor vase or a bold table sculpture. Stand it alone in an entrance hall, beside a low sofa in a living room, or fill it with dried pampas and branches. The graphic monochrome palette sits beautifully in wabi-sabi, boho and contemporary natural-material interiors.
